Cancellations:

You may cancel your booking with the George IV Hotel at any time either in writing, by telephone, by fax or by email (although you must note the cancellation reference number when cancelling over the telephone). Cancellations must be made in accordance with our cancellation policy below.

Please note that all accommodation reservations are subject to these terms and your booking constitutes their acceptance.

Cancellations of bookings earlier than 48 hours before midday on the booked arrival date:

In such cases, only the non-refundable booking deposit (amounting to £10 per person booked) will be payable, if not already paid.

Cancellations 48 hours or less before midday on the booked arrival date:

In such cases, a fee equivalent to the first night’s accommodation at rack rate will be payable. This total fee payable will not be in addition to the non-refundable deposit paid. The deposit paid will form part of your payment for the first nights accommodation charges. For clarity, if your booking comprises two people for two nights, then your first nights accommodation charges of £32.50 per person (£65.00 total) will be payable, less any deposit already paid.

No-Shows

Should you not arrive on the booked arrival date, and should you also not have cancelled in accordance with this cancellation policy, then the full cost of your booking will be payable, up to a maximum of two nights’ charges. For example, if you had booked three persons into the hotel for seven nights, but you then did not show, the charge payable would amount to three persons x £32.50 (if booked on B&B only) x two nights = £195.Any deposit(s) paid will form part of your payment of these charges.

Right to waiver

The George IV Hotel will make every effort to re-let your accommodation upon your notification of intention to cancel. Should this prove possible, the Hotel reserves the right to waive all or part of the charges due as part of the terms listed above. In such, and any, cases it will be at the absolute discretion of the General Manager as to the exact amount by which charges due may be reduced.

Collection of payments due

We will debit the credit card used in your initial reservation (used to pay the non-refundable deposit) for the amounts due at the point of cancellation or no show. Should you not have paid by card at the time of booking, then an invoice will be issued to your booking address for payment within 14 days.
