The 6 acre Coarse Lake at Bron Eifion is classed as a commercial fishery and is featured regularly in reputable magazines such as "The Angling Times" and "The Angler's Mail". It has a reputation of being one of the most densely stocked lakes in Wales and the North West region. In July 2004 it hosted an International match between Wales and Scotland and thus Bron Eifion Fishery can boast to being the first commercial fishery in Wales to host such an event. * 2005 Summer Matches 5hrs - record 120lbs * 2007 Winter Matches 5hrs - 87lbs * 2005 Heaviest carp: 27lbs
Eisteddfa Fishery is one of the best purpose built Carp Lakes in North West Wales surrounded by stunning views of the sea and mountains. It is easily accessible along the A497 Criccieth to Porthmadog Road, being only 5 minutes by car from Porthmadog and 2 minutes from Criccieth. The fishery is well sign posted ' Eisteddfa Coarse Fishery and Eisteddfa Caravan and Camping Park ' both are clearly visible from the main road. The lake is well stocked with both common carp and mirror carp into double figures, plus it has a good head of still water chub and a smaller number of tench. No Hybrid fish have been stocked giving Eisteddfa Fishery it's unique quality fighting fish. The fishery undertook a further restocking stocking program in autumn 2002 so now there are even more double figure carp. Since first opening an additional lake has been created at to cater for the match angler, as well has having the carp lake there is a 26 peg mixed coarse lake well stocked with roach, rudd, bream, carp and tench. The coarse lake boasts two very large disabled fishing platforms with their own parking alongside.
The lakes are naturally fed from flowing steams and are stocked with quality Coarse Fish: Carp, Tench, Roach and Rudd and there is strength in these fish . There are ample pegs for a pleasant days fishing in natural surroundings, with a wooded border to one lake and and a pier with disabled access.
